Puppy's First 2 Weeks
Days 3-16
As long as puppies are healthy and thriving, each puppy will be exposed to mild stressors through ENS. We will also be working on scents with ESI.
ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) consists of 5 exercises that are performed for 5 seconds or less, once a day.
These 5 exercises introduce mild forms of stress with great benefits:
- Tactile stimulation
- Head held erect
- Head pointed down
- Supine position
- Thermal stimulation
Benefits Include:
~ Improved cardiovascular performance (heart rate)
~ Shortens heart beats
~ Stronger adrenal glands
~ More tolerance to stress
~ Greater resistance to disease
ESI (Early Scent Introduction) consists of holding the puppy to a different pungent smell each day (scents that will activate the nose, but not taste buds: clove, red pepper, alpaca fiber, pine shavings, lavender - just to name a few.)
- Positive Reaction: Puppy is actively engaged with the scent
- Negative Reaction: Puppy moves away from the scent
- Neutral: No reaction noted
Weeks 3-8
- Focus on 10 Step Puppy Handling Exercise (Puppy Massage)
- Noise exposure (car noises, vacuum, fireworks, blow dryers)
- Focus on "Puppy Puppy Puppy" Recall
- Exposure to grooming (nail trims, baths, blow dry)
- Crate exposure
- House training started through litter training
- Age-appropriate vaccines & deworming at regular intervals, along with vet clearance prior to go home day
- Lifetime support & 2-Year Health Warranty
Weeks 8 & Beyond
- On Go Home Day, you'll be provided with a folder full of new puppy information, your puppy's health certificate, & all the go-home goodies.
